The week in opera: the sun rises at night on Sydney Harbour

  • If you’ve missed the breathtaking images of a giant sun rising out of Sydney Harbour (in the evening!), you must have been living under a rock. Media watched as technicians tested the giant inflatable orbs representing the sun and the moon in Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour – Madama Butterfly this week and the images have spread like wildfire.

  • These pictures will shatter your perception of opera, wrote Buzzfeed. See if for yourself at the event – opening March 21 and playing six nights a week until April 12.
